Top 10 Romantic Love Movies in 2013

Romance is one of the things that has kept cinema alive. There is something about love that keeps us glued to this ethereal genre. In 2013, we will see many new colors of romance. Here is the list of the top10.

1 / Upside Down

Upside Down

Kirsten Dunst in back in some romantic action. In a science fiction setup of the forever enmity between the rich and the poor, a man is searching for his love, whom he had been separated in his early youth. The plot is not very interesting, but the fact that the rich always walk the ceiling and the poor have to walk the earth, instill a poetic sense to this romance.

2 / The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

Again a tale of the rich and the poor. A common fellow takes a close observation to the life and times of his filthy rich neighbor. There is drama, fatal passion, dark business secrets, money, lavish lifestyle and everything else that you may expect. With Leonardo DiCaprio, you know there is a treat waiting for your eyes.

3/ Before Midnight

Before Midnight

Does the name sound like something you have seen before? Yes, the movie is the sequel to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. The plot is focused on the struggle in career and relationships. Jesse and Celine are married with twin daughters and live happily in Paris. However, the Jesse is not able to maintain a good relationship with his son born of his ex-wife living in Chicago. All of them go on a trip to Greece and that is where the drama follows.

4/ About Time

Have you ever felt the charm of a first meeting? You must have and surely you know that first meetings are the foundation for your relationships. In this movie, a boy with special powers to travel in time meets his love again and again to make it the perfect beginning and to mend their relationship. Will it be enough? The movie will portray the tenderest human emotions in the most attractive way and you will be left with a smile at the end.

5/ The Third Person

The movie is not a triangle but talks about the third person perspective of three different love stories based in three different places in the world. These three couples represent the beginning, the maturity and the struggle at the end of love. This is truly one movie that looks at love from different angles and tries to explain it all through three couples. The pot is as interesting as the start cast and this movie is worth a watch.

6/ Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures

The whole point concept of the movie is basically Twilight in the mirror. The girl, Lena has recently moved in a new southern town and she is romantically involved with a guy Ethan. Lena is actually a ‘Caster’ with supernatural powers and her family is pretty orthodox to let their daughter roam around town with a normal human. Lena must now decide which way she wants the wind to blow.

7/ Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies

it seems that the Twilight Saga has brought about a change in girl’s perspective of loving people other than humans. This movie is about a zombie apocalypse. A young zombie has eaten the brain of a lad to boost his memory (what???). As far as the memory goes, he is also falls in love with the girlfriend of his victim and is now saving her from his zombie brethren. That sounds interesting but we are still not able to figure out why would a girl love a zombie? To answer the question for us, watch this movie.

8/ Safe Haven

Safe Haven

There is something pretty typical about movies Nicholas Sparks’s novels that make for a very nice love story. There is a new woman in North Carolina who has a very dark and ugly past to hide. She falls in love with a store owners and bonds perfectly with his family of two children. When things seem to go all fine, there is a troubled past that starts featuring and the women finds her safe haven in love, in spite of all the obvious risks.

9/ Are We Officially dating?

The question is as strange as it gets but this movie wishes to pull it off in a nice way. Three friends decide to stay single for reasons not revealed and they obviously fall in love just at the wrong time. Zac Efron looks more like ‘look at me, I am a man not teen boy’ and we would like to see how far has he been able to come really.

10/ Can A Song Save Your Life?

Another romantic movie that asks a question. Two lovers move to New York to pursue a musical career together but the man, played by real life rockstar Adam Levine, leaves Keira Knightly for a solo career. Deserted and shattered, when she gathers up some courage, she is seen by Mark Ruffalo (the Hulk!!) who plays a record producer. Will they come together to save each other’s careers and life
