Some people say that the best things in life are not free. However, others seem to disagree with that statement. Which theory do you stand beside? Perhaps reading through the list of the top 10 most important things that money can’t buy will help you decide exactly which side of the fence you are on. Just for fun, maybe you should try to figure out your own top 10 list of important things

Top 10 Most Important Things that Money Can’t Buy

10. A Positive Attitude

Positive attitudes are very important and you cannot buy it at a local store. You just have to take the time to think positive thoughts. Instead of saying, “not possible”, consider saying, “Anything can happen” instead. Sometimes it is harder than you would believe to think that nothing negative will go on. That is why the people of the world who can manage a positive attitude are such great people to be around.

9. Reputation

In life, your reputation is one thing that you should value. Once you develop a bad reputation it is difficult, if not impossible, to overcome. Therefore, you should protect it at all costs by being an overall good person. If rumor has it you steal from others, then it will be difficult to convince others that you do not. If rumors are flying that you are a cheater, you will have trouble overcoming it and even a lot of money in your pocket cannot erase other people’s negative opinion of you and your reputation.

8. Successfulness

People are often measured by how successful they are. This does not mean that you can purchase it in a store, though admittedly, money can help you along the way to achieve it. How successful you are can vary depending on your views as well as the others around you. A successful businessman may not be viewed as successful if he is not a nice person to talk to and be around but a poor man, who has a great life at home with a happy family, could be successful as well.

7. Wisdom

You get wisdom only through experience. The more experiences you have in your life, the more you will understand how things work and the wisdom to know you should pick your battles carefully. Wisdom often has the same meaning as learn from your mistakes. Neither of which is available for purchase. Not even on the internet.

6. True Friends

True friends have no monetary value. They cannot be bought and they are not tradable. The only way to truly have a friend is if they like being around you as much as you enjoy their company. A true friend does not care how much money you have in your bank but you also know that you can count on them if you ever need them. It does not matter whether you need them to talk to or to borrow a cup of sugar. They will do what they can for you.

5. Clean Conscience

Regrets come from living and unfortunately making mistakes. These mistakes may hurt others and you probably feel bad or want to atone for it. This does not come from purchasing them a gift. Realize you have made a mistake, apologize for it, and move on. As long as you have not intentionally hurt someone else, physically or mentally, you should not have to worry about things eating away at your conscience. It takes time to accept your faults enough to feel as though your conscience is clean, not purchasing a new item to compensate for it.

4. Trust

Trust

Once destroyed, trust is impossible to replace. You have to earn the trust of others by being dependable. They have to earn your trust by being loyal. If either one messes up; you cannot go to the store to purchase a new bag of it. Most people wish that it would work that way, but the truth is, it cannot be that simple.

3. Purpose in Life

Everyone has a purpose in life. It does not matter whether it is to be a good parent, to write great stories, or to just succeed at something in their line of business. You have to seek the purpose of your life without help from others and without shopping for it.

2. Relationship with Kids

Your relationship with kids cannot be bought. You may purchase gifts for them, they may be spoiled rotten by all the things you buy, but if you truly want to have a great relationship with your kids, it takes your time. You have to accept them as they are, spend time showing them that you love them, and allow them to talk to you openly about all things.

1. True Love

Love as a whole is special. You can purchase gifts for someone, but that does not make them love you. True love is that butterflies in the belly, amazing feeling that everyone in life hopes to find. The sad truth though is that it is not always easy to get. It is perhaps one of the greatest things a person can have for others and it does not cost a dime. You simply have to be yourself and give love to the friends and family around you.
