Whether you are looking for a new career that makes great money or you
are simply curious to see how much your income truly sucks, the top 10
highest paying jobs in 2014 should give you a little bit to think about.
We all know that the medical field, regardless of your area of
expertise, is the highest paying jobs in the world. This list does not
dwell on that fact. It will tell you what could bring you some decent
cash, without the extensive college expenses, as well.
1. Anesthesiologist
Everyone knows that doctors make the most money. All types of doctors
make excellent money so if you have the money to invest in medical
school, you should try it if you want to make the big bucks. The thing
that surprised most is the fact that anesthesiologists are the highest
paid people in the medical field. It takes a lot of schooling to learn
how to effectively numb someone for surgery or other things. You can
expect to spend at least 11 years in school. However, they make more
than most doctors and bring home an annual amount of roughly $234,950.
There are many other jobs that did not make it into the top 10
highest paying jobs in 2014 list, but this should give you a basic idea
of what kind of job you should be doing if you want to make good money.
2. Dentists and Orthodontists
You will need about eight years of school and residency, but it can
mean you earn an average of $200,000 yearly. There is good money in
helping people maintain a healthy, beautiful, white smile. You can do
anything from simple cleanings to braces and root canals with this
occupation. Considering that virtually everyone in the world will need
their teeth to be dealt at some point in their life, it is a profession
that will never go away. Kids need their services to ensure that teeth
are growing in properly, teens want straight teeth, adults want to look
great, and even our older generation can benefit through veneers and of
course, false teeth.
3. Physician Assistant
A PA is someone who helps a doctor get their job done. They deal with
less schooling and still manage to bring home an average median salary
of $90,930. It is crazy to think that people often look down on Pas for
not going all the way to become a doctor. Less effort and still a fair
amount of cash comes into their hands. Everyone needs doctors. Assisting
them is the next best thing if you are not sure you want to invest in
schools or shoulder all the blame when something goes wrong with your
patients.
4. Health Specialty Teacher
This is not your average teaching job. They are college based
teachers who teach others what it takes to become a dentist,
veterinarian, and other types of public health people. To teach someone
how to become good at what they do, if you are good at teaching, you can
bring home an average median salary of $81,140. That is not too bad.
5. Physical Therapists
Imagine bringing home $79,860 yearly to help people get up and move
again. These people are the ones you go see if you were in an accident
of some sort and you are unable to move normally. They help your muscles
stay strong if you were confined to a hospital for an extended period
of time. They help athletes and more. It is a big job, but someone has
got to do it.
6. Commercial Pilot
Who wouldn’t love to get paid to travel all over the world? Would you
be willing to do it for an average income of $73,280? You do not even
have to really go to school if you want to host charter flights, handle
rescue operations, fight fires from the air, and do a little aerial
photography. All you need is your high school diploma, license, and
certification showing that you know how to fly.
7. Web Developer
You will need an associate’s degree, but is it really any wonder that
web developing is big business? You will need training in web building
and understand how Javascript, HTML, CSS, and other things work, but it
could be worth the effort considering you will make about $62,500 yearly
doing it. It will also allow you to do something you love doing anyway,
messing on your computer.
8. Electrical Technician
If you are not concerned about working with electricity and you are
willing to get an associate’s degree, you could make an average salary
of $57,850 a year to do it. It can help you start with computer repairs
or you could build circuitry boards. Perhaps you could even land a job
with the power company and get paid to drive your truck during the day
9. Event Planner
If you love the idea of planning for future events then perhaps you
should consider this career path. With it you will bring home about
$45,810 a year and all you have to do is help people plan the perfect
party. The event planner can do everything from wedding plans to
business meetings. They work hard to ensure that everything goes off
without trouble so that the bride, groom, or company owners do not have
to deal with the intricate details themselves.
10. Police Officer
You need to be physically fit in order to pursue this career choice.
If you are up for the challenge, you will need your high school diploma
and you need to graduate from the police academy. Saving the world from
criminals, risking your life daily, and trying to figure out who did
right and wrong is a tough job that will bring you about $56,980 a year.
This is one job that should be worth more than it is per year, but even
without the very hefty bank account, police officers get paid in
respect by most people, which can be wroth a little something as well.
