Mazda Top Car Skyactiv-D clean diesel launch delayed further into 2014

Mazda Top Car Skyactiv-D clean diesel launch delayed further into 2014

Mazda's excellent SkyActiv diesel technology was supposed to arrive stateside at some point this spring, but today, Mazda announced that we won't see the oil burners until later this year. The official word is that the company still has some work to do in order to "deliver the right balance between fuel economy and Mazda-appropriate driving performance.

I'm hoping that the PR lingo translates into, We're making sure the car(s) will be fun to drive. If this is actually the case, then do keep working away, Mazda. Diesel has the potential to be both fast and fun, and we know that Mazda's already pretty good at both of those things.
